Brave

So as Pixar fans (like me) know already, Brave will be released on the 22nd of June (which is also my birthday!), 2012. For those who haven’t seen them yet, here are the trailers, and a sneak-peek from “La Luna” (which has been nominated for animated short oscar) which will be shown right before Brave.

Additionally, the synopsis of Brave has also been released for those who want to know more:

“Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.”

Scrabble Délire: The Block Project

If you still haven’t seen the advertisement for Scrabble‘s new game, Scrabble Delirium, you should definitely watch it. I liked it despite the fact that the costumes could have been much better. But we know that they did spend time and effort on it since they decorated around 60 rooms in an empty building from scratch. Anyway, it’s fun to watch ^^

According to the Inspiration Room, “Mattel has launched Scrabble Délire in France, an enhanced version of the word game with new rules allowing for delirium. The game allows for writing words backwards, using proper names and writing a word anywhere in the grid. The new game is being promoted with a short film, “Scrabble Délire”, in which an empty apartment block becomes the source of much entertainment for a gathering crowd below. A brass band, a man in gold lycra, gorilla, pink princesses, Gulliver, a dragon, a clown, policemen, and Solo.”

Wishery

So remember the UPular Remix by pogo on one of my previous posts? Now he made one out of Disney‘s Snow White, which is actually not one of my favorite Disney Classics, but the song is captivating. I was really surprised to see the HD version of the visuals too, since I never cared enough to see Snow White again that much. Despite all that, I really loved the remix ^^ Hope you like it too.

Planetarium plagiarized?

I was really surprised when I found out that one of my favorite songs, プラネタリウム (Planetarium), from the 花より男子 (Hana Yori Dango) soundtrack by 大塚 愛 (Ai Otsuka) was accused of being plagiarized. More to add to my surprise was that it was accused of being ripped off from another of my favorites, 素敵だね (Suteki da ne) – the theme song from the Final Fantasy X game developed by Square Enix, sung by 中野 律紀 (Nakano Ritsuki – more commonly known as Rikki).

The two songs have very similar melodies and lyrics. The videos also share similarities. Although it is not clear if this was intentional, though I seriously doubt after watching both the music videos that it could be unintentional, it is commonly believed that Ai Otsuka used this song as a homage to Rikki.

Here is Ai Otsuka’s Planetarium video being compared with Rikki’s video
